I'm a singer/songwriter in Austin, Texas, and blogging is a big part of my journey through the music world. I moved to Austin 2 years ago to pursue music, and just this summer have begun making my living through all music-related pursuits. I am working at a music school, traveling the country with a kick butt singer songwriter who is a hero of mine (Adventures of the Merch Girl, as I like to call it), and about to release my first record this fall. I get into weird situations and meet strange people, but it's all in good fun. Sometimes it's fun soaked in beer in a Texas bar, but it's still good!
Since 2004, off and on, but my current blog has been active for over 1.5 years.
Fill in the blank: "People who like _________ will love my blog!"
music, traveling, stumbling around and finding a path in life...
What makes you different from other bloggers?
I'm doing my best to document the singer/songwriter life in Texas with every media form available...and I wear ironic t-shirts and flip flops at my gigs.
Hmm... I think you asked the right person! Here is a post I wrote for Nashville visitors: http://exschutz.blogspot.com/2008/03/brought-to-you-by-your-nashville.html
Also, if you're a songwriter you can't miss the Bluebird Cafe. Usually it's free early in the evenings, so go early to get a seat! Even if you don't like country music, it's still a great place and a Nashville Experience! If you want a "happening" more rock bar, go to Tin Roof. Just tell me what you like and I'll recommend something!
