20, blogging about trying to step out of my comfort zone and confront my fears as often as possible (In a humorous manner). When I'm not blogging I'm a 3rd year Political Science student at York University.
Lol, sorry sometimes people decide they want to go to work first for a while before going to grad school. I just went straight into it since I know myself. I knew that it would be very hard for me to come back to school after taking a break. As for if it's worth it, for me, I think it is. I don't want to be a lab tech in my area and the only way I can really do that is if I obtain a doctorate. I did not want to be told what to do. Make sure you're doing it because you WANT to, NOT because of the title, NOT because of parents, etc etc. Do it because you feel like you'll learn, grow, and experience things from the "research" perspective if applicable. I'm less familiar with other doctorate areas. My POV is from the biological/engineering perspective FYI. You learn a lot about yourself, and maybe you'll even decide after finishing that your skills (learned through obtaining that degree) that you want to apply it to a totally different area. For example, I've contemplated patent law and consulting even.
Grad school is frustrating me right now. If you'd like you can check out my blog for updates. I'm "theoretically" nearing the end of my doctorate but the darn experiments just aren't cooperating. I WANT to get working in the real world. I'd encourage you to go for it, it's never to late to learn.
