Single, Looking, Bored with it all
About Me:
I am a VERY lucky survivor of meningococcal disease. I contracted it in June of 2001. I was in a coma for 6 weeks & for the 1st week, my Dr.s weren't expecting me to survive. If you haven't been vaccinated for it, DO IT! You have no clue how fast meningococcal disease can destroy your body & your life! Within 48 hours of contracting it, I was in a coma on full life support! I have been in & out of hospitals ever since. I've had at least 30 surgeries due to complications from the disease. I started this blog mainly so people could follow me as I go through life as a disalbled 29 year old. I want people to see how much like them I (&other disabled people) really am. I've only been disabled 10 years so I'm still adjusting! Many of the posts are on topics somehow related to the health issues I deal with BUT I also have posts on lighter topics such as beauty products, family, friends & other things I enjoy.

Thanks a bunch for checking out my project! I actually just learned of the Sadako book 2 years ago. I feel like I was now a bit slighted in my childhood for not being exposed to it. I imagine she's received so many paper cranes. I heard they have a festival of sorts to commemorate her over there. If only it wasn't super expensive to get over there, I'd totally go.  :)

Thanks! :D After almost 6 weeks, and 2 sessions of therapy, my arm finally feels better! I can type, great, and I've been able to finally pick up things that weigh 3 pounds! :D

Nice blog, by the way! Checked it out and followed it! :D

Hey! Wow, how inspiring. It is amazing how many things we take for granted. I cannot even imagine how strong you have to be to go through the things you have. I like the blog!
