About Me:

Joyful. I am indecisive, fearful of commitment, and happy with this turn of events.

I recently moved from Portland, Oregon, and am currently residing in South Florida. I am moving to Key West as soon as my bank account allows for some leeway. I guess you could say that I am using this as an outlet to chronicle my move to the East.

I am an only child of a single mother. My father passed away five days before my sixth birthday of pancreatic cancer. Alas, it has been just my mother, A, and me ever since. Though I have spent the past 18 years without my biological father, I have been fortunate enough to have a handful of men that have gladly stepped in to take over that pivotal role.

It is safe to say that music is the love of my life, and has been the best (and only successful) relationship I have ever had. I play the cello and piano. Writing, well, we will consider it my second love.

I am a recovering alcoholic. I made the decision to quit drinking on October 28, 2007. Though it has been difficult, and made me rather introverted, it has been the best decision I have ever made. The past year has been an incredible challenge for me, but I am ready for another challenge. I know that I would not have been able to make sense of this life of mine without my sobriety and I am so proud for it. Through thick and thin, my sobriety is the most important thing in my life, and I could never, and will never let go of that.

It has been challenging, but growing into the person I have become has been so rewarding and I am so grateful for it all. I know the life I lead now would not have been given to me without a tremendous amount of courage, and my strange little family is a daily reminder of how one decision, one small turn of a daily existence, can bring the greatest presence into a life. Basically, I’m here for now, we’ll see where this is all going to end up. I just see that as part of the fun.
