I use Dreamhost as my server -- I'm pretty sure I paid way too much for it though. They certainly make the installation of Wordpress easy, but I've noticed that other hosts are much less expensive. Jess, the tattooed mama, has some good info on hosting, etc. on this page at her design site. She can also help get things started, if you're interested.

There are, indeed, a few widgets to choose from. Even more if you go self-hosted (which costs some money, and then they're called "plug-ins"). Self-hosted Wordpress allows for a ton of template editing. G'luck! ;)

Hey Melissa. I was just checking out your blog and noticed the Blogger is a Bitch post. And I am with you! I am a huge fan of Wordpress. Of course, it has it's own quirks and what not, but it's been a great platform. Just thought I'd lend you my two cents. ;)
