At 4:52pm on May 8, 2009, Irene said…: We went to visit LA and Monday we drove to Vegas and the Grand Canyon, LOL. we had kept Vegas and the Grand Canyon as backups, depending on how LA was going to treat us. . To me, LA just seemed like one of those cities you have to know what to do in and where to go to. . we must have just held different (higher) expectations. . and the traffic (annoying!) and weather (terribly rainy and overcast) really did me in! Overall, not the worst but not the greatest city either. How was that for a quick LA sum-up? I did good, right? ;) My stepdad (though I'm pretty sure he's never been) was raving about Santa Monica (that's where you're from, right?) and wanted us to take a day trip down there. I've also heard amazing things about San Diego. . and I've been to San Fran on business (cold January days. . the Golden Gate Bridge was totally fogged out, so mad! :() and I really liked it much better than LA. Where did you grow up in northern Cali?
