About Me:: Hi! I’m Naomi, a designophile, do-it-yourselfer with a passion for handmade things! Proudly married to a Marine Corps fighter pilot, we currently live in South Carolina, where I love making our Lowcountry cottage a welcoming, beautiful home. I have always admired things that are handmade, handcrafted, and homegrown. In our world of globalization, mass-production, and instant gratification, craftsmanship has become rare and, in my opinion, underappreciated. My love for making things is rooted in a family of crafters. My grandmothers are both experts at sewing; between quilts, clothing, curtains, doll clothing, they can (and have) make anything! My grandfather made his business building homes in my hometown in Indiana. My parents taught us to never be afraid of doing anything ourselves — it sure doesn’t hurt to try! In 2010, I was lucky enough to marry a wonderfully smart man who shares my interest in handcrafting things and who can make himself an expert at pretty much anything.

By day, I run a design consulting firm, The Leeman Group (check out my website!). I specialize in master planning, urban design, illustration, graphic design, and even a little bit of real estate consulting. At night, you’ll usually find me working on some type of DIY project! I have found so much inspiration in other similar design and DIY blogs, that I decided I’d start my own! So I hope you enjoy my creative endeavors to fill my home with things handmade with love!
