Does anyone have any useful knowledge about the Peace Corps?

Hey all,I was thinking about joining the Peace Corps...and I've been reading a lot online about it's an outdated and poorly-organized program and that Peace Corps members are thought of as little more that PR reps for the American government abroad. gosh it's so good to hear you say that.
it DOES feel like a dream. It feels like a giant pause button in my life. Like I stepped through the wardrobe to Narnia, and came back without missing a day of life here. I'm a completely different person...but everything here has stayed the same.

Same people doing the same things living in their same boxes driving their same suvs... it's creepy.


but otherwise, being home is great! :) haha
