Unique recipes, anyone?

Started Nov 25, 2010 0 Replies

I've always loved attempting the tried and tested recipes that I hear about in passing or visiting family during the holidays.  These recipes don't even need to be unique, necessarily... just fun and…Continue

What is your legacy?

Think about this...A philosophy professor once asked his students, "Respond to the following questions by a show of hands... "  "How many of you can tell me something about your parents?"  Everyone's…Continue

The Winning Crown

It's not the title or the crown that counts.
It's not the weight that's lost that really amounts.
It's not the makeup design, the gown that you wear.
The shape of your build, or the length of your hair.

You see, the growth of a Queen is all done inside.
The real preparation is done in the mind.
It's leaving your fears and faults behind.
It's lifting your soul to a place that's far seen.
It's molding a woman to the height of a Queen.

It's hard and it's work -- it's not easily done.
But when it's over, you'll know who's won.
When the curtains are pulled and lights are turned down.
You'll know you're a winner and you'll have your crown.
You see, all crowns are made different... it's really an art.
Yours can be rhinestones or growth of your heart.

She was a transfer, but I believe she graduated in December '09. She's from Miami so Kansas was quite a shock to her lol.

Thank you! Your blog cracks me up :) The post about ravaging the Thanksgiving leftovers ON Thanksgiving pretty much describes my family. They are all from the Midwest (except me) and I swear that means having a bottomless stomach. We also watch The Godfather movie marathon every Thanksgiving. Perhaps we are somehow related? Ha!

Welcome Sammie! Good luck finishing up the last little bit of school you've got left. What would you like to do post graduation? Best wishes. :)

Hey, I'm from the midwest too. I'm from the St. Louis side of things and it looks like you might be west of me by a bit. : ) I checked out your blog and subscribed to it. I like how you word things, you seem a nice balance of the sweet and the sour. If you get a chance stop by my blog which is about my journey of trying to regrow up.
