As a new grad student, first-time professional Web designer, lacrosse ref rookie, nanny in training, and a new live-in girlfriend to my formerly long-distance boyfriend... I'm entering a whole new world. But I also want to learn to do new, fun things, like cook, knit, play tennis, drive a stick, paint, and blog.

...and, well, to sum it up anecdote-style: I've burned mac and cheese before. So... my blog is basically a big new year's resolution [get better at hobbies!]-- and the only thing I'm really sure of is that as the new girl in all areas, it should be a hilarious ride.

Yeah, that first month is a killer. It's been about 8 weeks, and things are settling in, thank god. Pets are fun! We have a cat, and it definitely adds an interesting element.
