About Me:
My name is Simone. Skinny Dip is my blog about sex, love, relationships, LIFE, and what happens when all of these things collide with comically disastrous results.

I was born and raised on a sleepy island off of the West Coast of Canada that is known for its beautiful rose gardens and disproportionate number senior citizens, cults and Birkenstock wearers. After a childhood spent watching way too many Indiana Jones movies & putting on theatrical performances in my mom’s living room, I moved to Toronto when I was 18 to study theater and anthropology.

I have a B.A in Linguistic and Semiotic Anthropology – a degree that as it turns out has very little practical use in the real world. However, I like to think that I have applied my anthropological research skills to my dating experiences, consciously or unconsciously seeking out every bizarre and wacky situation possible with the same kind of optimistic curiosity Dianne Fossey possessed while hanging out with the Gorillas. Note, the alternate title for this blog would be “Hanging with the Gorillas”.

I love, sushi, white wine, vodka martinis, erykah badu, dancing & house music -but not in a creepy Jersey Shore-fist-pumping way. I don’t fist pump but I can dance really well in high heels. I’m also a self-proclaimed shoe and purse addict but I am no Carrie Bradshaw. I’m more like Carrie Bradshaw meets Liz Lemon. Sure, I carry a designer handbag but there is probably a sandwich inside.
