In response to your question about whether bloggers blog about their disability...
I blog about my chronic illness - you can read it here.
It's drawn comments from lots of people with disabilities, illnesses and even those without.
I am happy to create awareness about my illness, and hopefully change peoples' perceptions of me and others.
Blogging about my own illness has also led to being published elsewhere - on a government website. I submitted some of my blog entries, the editor read my blog and chose one to be modified for the site. And now it's published, I've been asked to do another one.
I think it's great to educate people about disability and chronic illnesses through blogs.
I am doing my Masters thesis on the way blogging creates a sense of identity and community for people with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
Great post.
