promising

I feel like I'm on the brink of something here. Something that could be amazing if I let it. But it could also be devastating, and I don't know if I can I handle that.

He seems like such a good man. I believe the unbelievably perfect things he says to me. He's patient and understanding, and that's exactly what I need him to be. When I think about him, I smile.

It feels so promising, yet I can't bear to make him a single promise. I feel like I'm building a wall… Continue

letter that i'll never send

"...he's so good to me..." When I read that, I actually screamed. Thinking about it now makes me cringe. You have NO idea. I could tell you so many things that he IS, and good to women would never make that list.

I'm really angry at you (at, not with, because you clearly never considered my feelings). No, I don't know you, but you represent any woman that would knowingly become involved with a man that has a family. Who does that? And adding to my confusion, I wonder what kind of… Continue

I'm a romantic. I admit it, okay? Though I've never seen it in real life, I've believed in the fairy tale, happily ever after and all. My favorite collegiate courses were the intense and idealistic Romanticism in American Lit and Medieval Lit, with its knights and ladies and their courtly love. I have dreams of "Prince Charming" and the stuff of Nicholas Sparks novels. I believe in butterflies and love notes and mid-sentence kisses and holding hands and slow-dancing in the living room after the… Continue

Life is full of moments... Most are insignificant, or at least not very memorable, but some of those moments stay with us forever. Do you remember the moment you became an adult? Maybe a graduation, a "real" job, a break-up, a first home, a birth or a death carved out that milestone.

I thought becoming a mother officially made me a grown-up. Rex's birth certainly changed me. The first time my own child was placed in my arms, my definition of self was revamped. "It's not about you… Continue

the lost one

I started this post about four times today, each time deleting my words and walking away...I knew I wanted to get this out, but wasn't sure how to approach it. After the babies went to sleep, I sat here awhile, looking at the blank screen. Now I know:

I had a dream last night...I hardly ever remember my dreams, so that I did is weird enough. All I remember is seeing Gram in a rocking chair, holding a baby wrapped in a white blanket. As soon as I saw the baby, I knew who he was. The… Continue

Heheh. When I imagine people using that phrase it's in a tut-tutting tone in terms of relationships or some other aspect they don't approve of.

I dunno. Just say you're gathering empirical evidence. :)
Then write a book, make a ton of cash and rub it in their faces.
