I'm an editor with a blog and I try not to eat too much candy.
Oh, and here are 25 more things, via facebook:
1. Despite my jesting at work, I'm not actually a hermaphrodite. Don't tell my coworkers, though - I don't want them to start giving me the sexy eye.
2. I am a real vegetarian now. Last year, I'd make an exception for hot dogs, because they're not killing cows for the hot dogs, and I figured I was just cleaning up after all you meat eaters.
3. At the urging of my friend Pete, I started eating nuts two years ago. I can't believe I ever didn't eat nuts.
4. My favorite was cashew, but I think I overdid it. I'm into walnuts now.
5. I also ate beans for the first time two years ago. I prefer canellini.
6. I spent $50 on organic groceries last night because I'm too lazy to walk to the non-organic supermarket down the street.
7. In college, I joined a gym but never went. I was too lazy to cancel my membership, so I paid for four months without going. Now I go to the gym, and I actually LIKE it.
8. I've even lost 5 of the 10 pounds I gained since entering the world of sitting on my ass, i.e. an office job.
9. I graduated college at 20. I need to retain my pride in this, because I haven't done anything remarkable since.
10. I qualify for Healthy NY health insurance, which means I'm poor.
11. In September, I'm leaving New York to travel. Ideally, I'll receive some funding for this, but either way, I'm leaving.
12. My best friend lives in Florida, and I think my quality of life would be significantly better if she lived nearer. But I'd never move to Florida.
13. Four years ago, I tried out for American Idol. I forgot the words because I was too embarassed to practice in front of everyone.
14. Matt and I got rid of our TV, but now I just watch Hulu all the time.
15. I was cheerleading captain in 10th grade.
16. I think Eckerd was the best job I ever had. I contemplate asking for an application whenever I go to my neighborhood Duane Reade, but I think it sounds better in my head.
17. My best impression is of Cher, but I learned recently, in the shower, that I do a mean Joanna Newsom as well.
18. I don't know the words to any of her songs, so I just sing, "I do/a wonderful impression/of Joanna Newsom.
19. At 20, I was accepted into a Ph.D. program. Again, need to be proud of this, for reasons mentioned above.
Hey... Well Debt is quite a problem and I consider myself to be lucky to stay away from it yet. Although I'd have to take a HUGE loan if I want to pursue my MBA. Let's see how things work out. I hope your finances remain in check for good and that you don't face any problems whatsoever. Anyways, I think it's you who's so interesting and it clearly trickles down in your blog. Looking forward to hear from you next.
And regarding your "25 things..." list, I'm in the same boat with you on #9. I did pick up an MBA in the meantime, but I don't feel like that was a major accomplishment for some reason. Maybe because I'm unemployed :-)
Hey Danielle... I just came across your blog and I must I think it's quite interesting. I loved the way you've expressed the joy, the guilt and the remorse of buying an iPod. I say now that you own it, enjoy it to the max on high volume. Maybe that'll help you reduce some stress :) I'm surely coming back to your blog to read more.
