randomness
I blog about random things, so be prepared to be surprised. Sometimes I will add the most boring, pointless posts whereas other times (and more recently) I've had the chance to put al ot more thought into my posts.

I used to blog at odd-innuendo.net, which was based on being an apostate of Islam, but since my journey of coming out to my mother as an unbeliever is complete, I abandoned that blog and created a new one from scratch when I moved back to the UK from Australia.

I suppose I should tell you what that was about, since it was such a big part of my life. I was born into a Muslim family and I have always been a skeptic. However, more recently I began to do some research as it was clear to me that I no longer wanted any ties with the faith. I came clean to my mother about it and also about my boyfriend of 2 years who is Australian (and also an Atheist) and since she had already met him as a friend, she was fine with it.

Sadly, it doesn't work out like that for everybody. It is important to understand that although my mother was understanding, not all apostates of Islam get the same treatment and many are disowned by their family and friends. My own father does not know of my apostasy, but he does not play a major part of my life so my mother told me that it is best to keep quiet for now. I'm just happy that my mother, who has been my best friend and always stood by me, is still supporting me.
