the woes of attempting humor in another language

The most frustrating thing about a language barrier is, without a doubt, its ability to change personalities. What I hate most about translating between English and Spanish has nothing to do with synonyms, or matching genders with pronouns, or conjugating verbs and tenses (although those are also a pain in the ass), what I hate most is trying to be funny/ trying to express myself.
