- i recently quit my job doing something i hate in the hope that i might begin to figure out what it is exactly that i should be doing with my life. i’m still almost completely lost in that regard save for knowing it can’t involve answering phones. Or dealing with customers. Or making sales. Or getting out of bed before 11.
i get a real kick out of parenthesis. i find them to be some of the most mystical implements used in modern linguistics. for instance, i can write most anything and then insert more text in parenthesis and suddenly it’s like walking into a brand new choose your own adventure story (because parenthesis can be like a distant homophobic uncle that, for the most part, you can pretend you don’t know except for certain holidays where you need to act like you like him because everyone’s looking. in fact, i can write just about anything in parenthesis without remorse or shame because to most they are only optional reading anyway and probably don’t hold any major plot points or critical information and therefore can be grazed over without so much as a thought or dissected into oblivion depending upon how much you’re into details. and parenthesis.) amazing!
