The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Image from The Bridal Blog
Up until this Monday past, I was a relaxed bride. Blissfully ignorant of all the crap I have yet to do before I can chill the eff out and get sozzled on my wedding day. I think it was a heady cocktail of 2 parts denial one part naivety and 1 part silliness. Whatever it was, it had me convinced I had the whole thing handled. And for the most part I have, I think nerves are just starting to set in.
Things I have yet to organise are:

The Cake: I spoke to Cupcake Kisses, but they're taking a month off in August, so that's that. My sister in law, Sharon gave me a number for a wedding cake specialist in Navan. Her name is Bernadette Kennelly and she has made almost every cake for my brother's family occasions. She also comes recommended by a number of hotels around the country so I have a good feeling about her. I'm heading up there tomorrow evening to see her cakes, and possibly interview her, taste some cakes and possibly take a few photos for my lovely readers on RYTTA. So in theory I'm sorted for the cake.

My Dress: Or should I say the alterations to my Wang. I have a number for a dress maker, given to me by Jonny's Gran. I'm sure she's a very skilled lady but I've never met her and have no idea what her work is like. In this case I'm gonna take a leap of faith and hope for the best... worth the risk you think?

Barstaff: Originally the plan was to have some of my best friends siblings work the bar. They have oodles of bar experience and they're really good fun. Unfortunately, one of them is now heading to Canada and I can't expect the other to work the bar alone. So I need to hire someone.

Waiting Staff: I'm gonna approach the local bars and see if there's any of the local lounge staff around, or even local teenagers available for the night, to collect glasses, plates and generally just be on hand.

Flowers & Table Decorations: Still not sure what I'm gonna do here. I plan on traveling into Dublin City Centre in the wee small hours to haggle with the wholesalers.

Flower Girls: As I mentioned in my previous post, I bought the dresses in monsoon. I'm going to buy shoes, cardigans and accessories for the flower girls and bridesmaids in London next weekend.

Handbag: Yes I said handbag. I'm looking for an ivory, vintage style clutch. Nothing I have found so far matches.

Hair Style: I'm still looking at hairstyles. I have a hair appointment before the London trip next week and hopefully I can make an appointment for 'Hair Trails'... sounds like crufts.

I think that's it... thought I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Gah!
