BAAAAAAAH! Why I felt the need to write "bah" as though I were I sheep is beyond me, but it is Wednesday morning and I am too tired to be at work. Well no, not really. I'm surprised at myself actually. It's the end of the year and for those in college it either means you're officially done with classes and have gone home, or are still awaiting the end of finals to go home next week-- GOOD LUCK! Well, one of my friends is back home from Buffalo and I'd planned to hang with her yesterday. I attend "almost famous Tuesdays" at a spot called "The Village Pourhouse." My friends set-up and coordinate an evening of Rockband in this bar and well, I'm an addict.
Back to the point. Since I wanted to hang with my friend, I attended a class at my gym called, "Chisel." The general description is to tone the body doing fun excersices with weights. I normally would attend Yoga which starts at 6:30, but chose this class which was an hour early. OMG!!! I plan on going back because I refuse to wimp-out, but never have I wanted to just cry and give up than in this fitness class. Is it fun, yes-- but I had difficulty with the fast pace and the constant lifting of various weights. And that's just me using 10lbs weights! I've always been a fan of stretching excersices but something so simple as "hands up! Now reach... and down" became the most difficult thing in the world.
What has this class taught me? 1: I'm in worse shape then I thought. 2: I have loads of willpower, because I did NOT quit even though my body was begging for it. 3. The pain of the class made me too tired to eat-- I ate 2 small pieces of red meat with tortillas (I'm Mexican BTW) and drank loads of water-- and that was all I could bring myself to ingest.
It is now the morning after and all aspects of my body hurt, but it's a very good kind of hurt. =)
