The Bloggers With The Most To Say

My new blog is ten days in, and I'm already having the same problem I had with my last one. I find that I can't nail down a style. Sometimes I'm intense and poetic, and other times I'm quirky and ironic. Obviously I throw a good dose of pure randomness into the mix as well. I am a 20 something, after all.

Anyway, what are your thoughts? Is this a problem, or should I just go with it?

Or do I need to pick a style and stick with it?

This is probably my usual style, and the one I'm most inclined to blog in. I'd love to hear some thoughts and feedback...

or maybe this...

Do people even want to read that sort of thing? I'd love to hear what guidelines you have set in place for your blog posts.

Peace.

Mel.

The best style is you own personality. Let it come out depending on your topic whether it's quirky, poetic, etc. It's what makes your blog yours. Your writing style. Go with it.

Well I guess it depends on what your goal is. Do you blog for your own personal benefit or are you trying to gain an audience?

If it's personal do whatever the heck you want! It it's for an audience pay attention to what gives you the best response and stick with that.

Keep doing what you're doing, over time what you really enjoy writing about will start coming out of you more and more and you might lose some followers for ultimately choosing one path or another. My site used to be development/blogging/design related until about a month ago, I had been doing my writings on another site but that's what I really enjoyed doing. I was all over the place with stuff. Sure about half of my subscribers dropped the next day but gradually now over the past month they have picked back up, its getting closer to what it once was and etc.

I'm not saying to just do a massive change like that but I think over time the stuff that you really like to do will increase and the rest will sort of fade away. It won't constrain you either I mean within whatever you end up doing obviously you're going to grow and change and that will naturally be reflected.

To go into your question about what people like to read, there's an audience for about anything. I mean fuck it you have to stay true to yourself if you're going to be happy and that's the only thing I can say, pleasing yourself and laying it out there no matter how many people think you're crazy or insane or weird.

My thoughts at least.
