The Bloggers With The Most To Say

A good friend Scarlett gave me the heads up on this website. Cupcakes are becoming a very popular option for weddings as they're easy to make, transport and they look fantastic when they're done right. It also means you're not limited to one or two flavours, thus catering to almost any palate. You can have as many combinations as you like in theory, though it can get a little pricey. You can have them double as wedding favours too by ordering a batch of mini cupcakes for guests to bring home. It's something I'm definitely considering, and even gave some thought to making them myself, though Jonny's putting his foot down on this one. He reckons I'll have enough to do in the run up to the wedding without baking a couple of hundred little cakes... He might have a point.

The pricing schedule is available on the website, but it doesn't give you prices for large quanitities, I've requested some information from Susan, and I'll return to it when I get a response. Individial cupcakes start at €2.50, mini cupcakes €1.50, 30 cupcakes with stand rental is €30 and 23 cupcakes with stand is €60. Delivery is €5 within a 10 mile radius of Dublin City Centre, free with orders over 12 cupcakes.

I'm in the process of researching a couple of standard cakes at the moment, I'll post about them when I have more information. What are your thoughts on the wedding cake? Are you a traditional fruitcake? Or will you go with something like this?
