I'm sorry, I butt-called you!

This goes under “Why didn’t I think of that?!” fame

My friend wanted to call her ex whom she has been in contact with since they broke up in early December. They have a mixed up relationship now where they are kinda friends, kinda not. But that’s a whole other blog!

So he had called her Friday night, and she missed it. So she really wanted to call him back but at the same time, didn’t, because that would put him back in control, right? Oh the games we play. Anyhow, she lost her resolve and at about 10 or so that evening, she calls him. After the third ring, she begins to panick. “What if he doesn’t answer?”

So instead of feeling better of herself for calling back she’s left in that awful state of having called him, and having to wait AGAIN for him to call, which is way worse than if you hadn’t called in the first place!

As she began to hear the fourth ring, she really started to lose it. “Why had I never blocked my number?!” she silently cursed to herself.

And as she heard his voicemail, there was only one thing to do: Not say anything.

That’s right. The phone beeped, and it was time to leave a message, and instead of saying anything, she let the phone catch the static and noises in the background.

When he called about 10 minutes later and asked “Hey did you call me?”

She said, “Oh did I? I’m sorry, I must have butt-called you.”

You know, where you leave the phone in your butt pocket and accidentally dial someone by mistake. GENIUS!

Now, I’ve been butt-called before and have gotten messages where i hear music in the background but nothing else. Now I will always wonder, did they butt-call me on purpose?

Although I somehow thing boys are not this clever…Any other suggestions as to how to call someone without actually “calling” them?
