Information and Its Effect on Success

I recently finished reading Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers because as you should know by now I love to read. Gladwell's theory is that timing and one's social background play the most vital roles in achieving success.

Well I'd like to throw the importance of information into contention as the key to success. Furthermore, it is those who are either able enough or lucky enough to obtain scarce information (to which a degree of interpretation also plays a keyfactor) that will achieve success.
