The Bloggers With The Most To Say

Some movies I've been catching up on:

American Teen - A great documentary (with the occasional unfortunate CG dream sequence) that brought back memories of being terribly awkward in high school.

Kinsey - A fantastic look at a man who completely changed the morals and humanity of the American people. Great performance from Neeson and Linney.

Matchstick Men - Ridley Scott at the helm and one of the best performances I've seen from Nicholas Cage, but it just didn't click for me. The performance by Cage's character's daughter was underwhelming and his character became annoying to watch.

American Teen is an excellent documentary! Teenage angst aside (for I agree, there is an abundance of it), I found it really interesting how the main girl compared high school social groups to the caste system in India. I'm assuming the director was purposefully playing this idea throughout, especially with the references to the Breakfast Club.

But I actually thought the CG sequences were effective, especially the ones for the gamer nerd. I thought it totally captured what and how he fantasized.
