My latest craftiness...
This week has been full of craftiness for me. I completed a dress for Mia (without using a pattern). The pictures aren't that great - the hem is actually straight, but I couldn't get the angle right :-P.
Yesterday I completed two pieces of "art" for Ari (http://the-happy-cactus.blogspot.com/) as a trade since she is designing my business cards. Except for the frames they are made entirely of wax. I made the purple background using a purple glimmer block candle and the depiction of a cacti with broken up green taper candles. Unfortunately you can't tell in the picture (my photos are a bit off today) but the background is actually different layers, heights and textures... I melted the purple candle using different heat (cooking torch - fast and thin layers, candle torch - slower, thicker layers and regular lighter - medium layers). It was definitely fun to try something new.
