The Bloggers With The Most To Say
Olde mare my arse!
Some people think that because she is 15, Libby should be a little slower, and a little calmer. (For those of you new to Three Stride Studios, Libby is my horse)
Well someone really needs to tell her that, because she has a different opinion of how she should be spending her days. Sunday was spent doing a photoshoot starring Libby and Rachel, and after we were done with the pretty posed shots, we let Libby loose in a paddock, hoping to get some pictures of her trotting around.
Boy... Did she ever deliver! Gate was closed for 3 whole seconds before she took off like a mad beast. Now, it's not like she doesn't get exercise, she's ridden 3-5 times a week. But something about big open field, all to yourself, brought up the racehorse roots in her, and she had a great time!
Took me a while to get her calmed down enough to catch her, and then she got a huge helping of dinner and tucked away warm in her stall.
There is something about horses that makes everything right in my life.

Your mare is beautiful - what a fantastic picture! I love the last line of this post, you're spot on. They have an incredible knack for making everything else fade into unimportance.
I always get a little irritated when people write off older horses - my horse is "old" too - 15. It always seems to surprise people when they realise he can still jump; but he's better than ever in a way because his confidence has grown as he's gotten older.
