The Bloggers With The Most To Say

I'm thinkin.
I want to know why some genius hasn't invented a course in middle school (this is when we began to define ourselves) that tells us that when we grow up we'll be one of two things: Happy or Sad. And a very select few are truly happy. The sad become depressed, addicts, or whores (doesn't have to be sexual. you can be a social whore..crying for attention). I believe that the strong ones are the happy ones. The people that can live w/ nothing but the company of themselves (and not go insane). The people that aren't afraid to be alone are the strong ones. Think about it. NO one wants to be alone and it's kind of a fear that most of us have..The fear of loneliness.
So when you come across a person who'd rather spend their lives alone in peaceful solitude..you think.."Wow. They're sad!" But in reality, it's you who's sad.

Loneliness can be conquered only by those who can bear solitude. ~Paul Tillich

A person that's not afraid of being alone is not afraid of loneliness. And that person is the truly happy one. The lonely man thats goes to the movies alone or the pitiful woman that looks out the restaurant window while she eats alone...These people are the happy ones...They've got the best of both worlds...They can be social or antisocial..either way they're still happy.
I'm not saying that everyone should be antisocial & keep to themselves. But if people weren't so afraid of being alone they wouldn't be so dependent on others. And heartbreak wouldn't hurt as much, depression would be rare, and all of us 20 something year olds wouldn't be lost and running around like chickens with our heads cut off, trying to find ourselves. Because solitude would allow us to discover who we truly are!
