today as I watched the girl across the street sneaking back in her
house after her mum had dropped her at school made me think about a friend
and my attempt to jig school for the first time... Let me take you back a few years.........
It was a Wednesday and we were in year 10, Wednesday was sport day so
offcourse the day we all avoided school... My friend Amanda and I
decided we would go to the non sport room as there were rumours you got
let out early there! So off we went thinking we were so clever then
when we were asked why we were there we bravely said we’re sick...
Silly girls... We were sent off to sick bay. This was a regular
occurrence, us attending sick bay in groups, we thought we were out
smarting everyone...sigh. So on our way to sick bay we have the
brilliant idea to jig school!! How hardcore were we! There we go
commando running out of the school, no we didn't just blend with all
the other kids going to sport... Where would be the fun in that!! My house is about 15 minutes walk from school we get to the vicinity of my house and we see my lawn mower man there and shit ourselves!! We sit behind a tree across the street laughing then when he starts
mowing the backyard we sneak into the front... Then the incredible
guilt sets in... These next actions I can still not believe we
did!!!!!!!!
We freaked out completely, felt guilty and scared, actually petrified
about what was going to happen when we were caught...,.
So we jumped on the Internet and looked up the schools email address... We wrote them
an email basically saying hi this is Alyssa and Amanda, we jigged
school and feel really bad.
Then we waited for half an hour and didn't get a response... So we
looked up the phone number and called........ YES... idiots right?!
The receptionist answers and in all our nerves we start uncontrollably laughing and say that we jigged school and now we feel really bad so just wanted to let them know. She puts us through to the head of our year where we once again explain our story. She doesn’t see the funny side and demands we head straight back to school for a meeting with her.. When we meet with her we are still hysterically laughing, shit scared- so what else can you do but laugh! We try and reason with her saying at least we were brave enough to call her and tell her. But no, she had other ideas, from all this laughing she determined we were drunk! I can now see why she thought we were drunk, what moronic children in their straight mind would call to say they jigged?! Needless to say our parents got called in to discuss our drinking habits (NONE) and we got quite a few detentions to teach us a lesson...
How embarrassing. To make matters worse the whole grade found out and we were humiliated for weeks being the girls that jigged then called in to dob on ourselves!
