The Bloggers With The Most To Say

That is the question. Initially we taped out everything from the floorboards, to the ceiling, windows, and doors.

But after 45 minutes of meticulous taping it didn’t exactly leave me with a sense of accomplishment once I was done. I simply had blue tape on my walls. Tape, that was shortly going to be peeled off and thrown into the garbage along with all the time I spent putting it up in the first place.
So when we started to paint our second bedroom we decided to test the waters and try our luck at free hand painting. So with an angled brush and a steady hand I painted the edge along the baseboard, tape free. I must admit I was surprised and very happy with the results.

Rejoicing in the new found freedom (and time saved) I continued to paint the edges around all of the windows and doors sans tape. But, once I got to the ceiling that was a different story. It’s much harder to paint in a straight line when it’s above your head and you can’t actually see what you’re painting. Plus having to keep climbing down and scooting the ladder over whenever you get out of arms reach doesn’t exactly make for a continuously even line. So we will still be taping the ceiling. But thankfully our taping time is only a fraction of what it used to be and our edges look just as good!
P.S. Don’t worry Scotch Blue, I still love you! I couldn’t have done our striped closet without you :)
