Do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life... How true is this? Are you following your passion or have you conformed to the masses??

Mediocrity is my catalyst, & I will stop at nothing to prevent myself from ever falling into this dimension of society. If you don't love what you're doing with your life, make the proper adjustments, so that you can. Before I even graduated from high school I promised myself I would never end up working in a cubicle. There are far too many creative thoughts flowing through my head to not release them as I please. I've been doing what I love for a couple years now & haven't looked back yet.

I hope you're doing the same. We are all certainly capable of it.

This is a great question and something I've really struggled with, to tell you the truth.  My job is not "why I wake up in the morning."  You know?  I'm not sure that I will ever be one of those fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants-live-in-the-moment creative types.  Let's face it- I like having insurance.  Haha...I like knowing that there will be money coming and and where that money comes from.  I'm finding peace with that.  The world is full of all kinds of people.  We need the "following your passion" types just as much as we need the nine-to-fivers.  I think I will be the kind of person who pursues my passions outside of my job.

Most people don't have a burning passion for one particular thing.  If someone is lucky enough to know what they want out of life, they owe it to themselves to follow that passion.
I'm following my passion, for sure. I managed to get an amazing job from my blog (working for the ABC in Australia). Speaking of which, I have an article to write :)
Definitely "following my passion" - working as a full-time professional musician, and I love it!  :)
I am studying psychology, I hope to go into research after getting a Ph.D  I'm not sure what I want to research though.  I'm very excited to get out of school and into research, I don't look at it as working.  I'm going to be learning for the rest of my life and I love that :)
I'm following my passion. I work from home, but it's still not my dream job. My dream job is to work from home as an artist. But right now... "Work" doesn't feel like "work." So I guess it's quite true! I wake up, stay in PJs, play the Xbox, blog, draw, hang out with my wife, play with our pets, etc. all while working!
That sounds like a fairytale!
I hate working and I hate work. I probably won't be happy until I've completely stop working, which should happen sometime within the next decade if I'm lucky.
For me, I've found there has to be a balance between loving the work and loving the people i work with...  I can deal with more negatives to a job if my coworkers are awesome.
I'm currently studying public policy and I plan to apply to law school when I graduate. While I'm not sure that law is my passion, I can't really say what my passion is. Government and history were just the classes that I excelled in so I thought hey! why not law? Right now I'm comforting myself with the fact that people with law degrees don't necessarily have to become lawyers, so I have plenty of time to figure out what I really want to do.
Although, now that I'm thinking about it, I guess you could say that helping people is a passion of mine. I love volunteering, especially with children, but helping people doesn't pay the bills! I mean, I could always go into nonprofits, but will a nonprofit paycheck afford me the type of lifestyle I'm used to? Am I a bitch?
I'm following my passion! I love aquatics and everything surrounded by it. I realized though that this is not the true aspect of aquatics that I want to be in....considering going back to school.
