The Bloggers With The Most To Say
I recently decided that I'm going to make a scrap book for my nephews first birthday. However, I'm planning to give it to his parents for Christmas. I've never actually made a scrap book, what advice would you give someone who's not so art & craftsy? How long does it normally take?

The ready made embellishments make it easier and quicker but then things like paints can add in something different. I used to love actually hand sewing pictures onto my pages. Magazines and looking online for different ideas is a great place to start and get inspiration, it will also help you decide what you like and don't like!

I forgot to add, make sure you don't stick anything down until you ensure you like your layout. It's like using a pen to do a crossword, it's ballsy but can often lead to having second thoughts.
I do some scrapbooking and don't use anything that would make the pages thicker, such as tacks or embellishments because they also get crushed. Yes they make the pages look cute, but I save those things for making things like picture frames. What i did for my nieces first birthdays was bought a poster frame from Wal Mart, then bought scrapbook paper that was pink with little baby hand and feet on it, and made them photo collages for their bedroom walls. The scrapbooks will be given to them on their fifth birthdays. I mostly use stickers and stencils.
