The Bloggers With The Most To Say
I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of other THG fans in this community. Trailer day is here! Let's geek out together, shall we?

Things that I love about this trailer:
1) They are including the backstory with the hovercraft/Avox girl
2) It made me cry. A two minute trailer made me cry. They're focusing on the emotions and not just the action, even while there's a week long bloodbath providing plenty of action. That's how I know this movie is going to be great- it's going to have both sides of the story.
3) I don't care what people see- Katniss looks amazing and is totally going to rock it.
4) CINNA!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally whack-a-do choice, but he seems absolutely perfect.
Things I don't like:
1) It's not actually the movie.
Permalink Reply by Sweeney on November 14, 2011 at 1:09pm Everything about the aesthetic of this trailer is spot on. I have never had doubts about Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and I feel a million times more sure. I was a little dubious about Lenny Kravitz, because.. just... what!? but I have to say that I'm pretty excited.
It's funny that you mentioned them telling both sides of the story, because one of my first questions was, "Would my brothers go see this movie?" It's my personal litmus test for this for a variety of reasons and the fact that I felt like I could say, "Yes," made me feel even better about it. But you're right - very little of the bloodbath is actually presented here.
Buuut mostly, +1 to your last point. WHY IS MARCH SO VERY FAR AWAY?
Permalink Reply by Gina on November 14, 2011 at 1:11pm Yes! I love the aesthetics! The total change between district 12 and the Capitol, the juxtaposition of the high-tech world against the slums and the carnage of the arena. Amazing.

^^^^ Was my exact reaction! Especially because my laptop's battery was about to die. But it survived the entire trailer.
I'm already imagining how they're going to do the next two. TOO EXCITED.
Permalink Reply by Shelly on November 14, 2011 at 8:04pm We keep putting these books on the back burner in my book club. I think we have to read them soon because I feel like I'm behind in pop culture. Not a good feeling!
Permalink Reply by Sweeney on November 14, 2011 at 8:05pm YES. You should start pushing them in your book club.
Permalink Reply by Gina on November 15, 2011 at 8:24am The Snark Squad is trying to organize some sort of reading party. Obviously, you don't have to read it exactly on our timeline to participate, but we want to chat the hell out of the books, all leading up to the glorious premier. :)
Permalink Reply by Gina on November 15, 2011 at 12:06pm I am totally, totally down. I've read them a half dozen times already, so I'm ready to discuss no matter what the schedule it :)
Permalink Reply by Ginny on November 14, 2011 at 8:57pm I have nothing bad to say about this trailer. I can't stop watching it!!
Effie looks and sounds just like I thought.
The contrast with the bleakness of district 12 and the bright shiny capital are captured perfectly
Peeta!!
Cinna!!
The last bit where they all run for supplies and weapons! This trailer was really well done.
