- I'm a 25 year old sailor's girlfriend (army girlfriend before the remuster). I recently began working in a field I know little to nothing about after spending many years working with female offenders. I love travelling and have driven cross country twice in the last year (thanks to postings with the CF). I would love to go to Europe and spend a life's fortune on fabulous shoes and bags while there.

Hey Erin,
I'm an Australian married to a Canadian infantry soldier. We've been together almost 6 years and 'together' is a relative term. I totally hear you that long distance is the norm. I lived in Petawawa with him for 2 years, but moved to Toronto before his deployment training and then deployment took him to Afghanistan last year. We'll probably be seeing each other on weekends for another 4 years - unless by some miracle he gets posted somewhere I can work and have my own life too! Every Canadian milspouse I've met has a similar story and is a wonderfully inspiring and strong woman. I'd love to read your blog. You can find mine at m-moments.posterous.com.
