Law and Order

My roommates and I are (possibly) forsaking the apartment and moving into a house! But, naturally things aren't easy. Two of us want the same room, a converted garage. My boyfriend suggested that we play rock-paper-scissors to be fair, but that's the pussy way. I play to win. I want this garage room so bad. That's why I think we should set up a mock court. I watch enough TV to pretend to be a lawyer and defend my case.

Racism and Discrimination

In my art history class, we are discussing Postmodernism, specifically the work of Kara Walker. At first, I found Walker's work a bit obscene, but after being required to do several readings on the meanings behind her work, I have to admit that while I'm disgusted, I believe her message is an important one.

See, Kara Walker talks about slavery, racism, and discrimination by…

Paradox

I would like to say that I am not catty, generally irritable, irrational and annoying at times, but that would be a lie, and the one thing I do not condone is lying. In fact, as much as I say I hate the stereotypical "woman," i.e. - vicious, back-stabbing, and bitchy, I exhibit the most qualities of a "woman" out of all of my friends. The only thing keeping me from being a full blown "woman" is the fact that I know and accept the fact that I am a bitch. I realized that I could handle situations… Continue

I play a mean game of UNO. My favorite color is purple. I love dinosaurs, Cheez Its, and the smell of freshly mowed grass. Do not take me to a library or a fabric store unless you're prepared to spend hours inside of it. I'm a studio art with a concentration in fibers major at the University of North Texas, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with that degree. I guess I'll figure it out. Or become a hobo, whichever comes first.

I checked out something navy and I have to say that I am not impressed by her idea of fashion. Nothing matches, ill fitting dress shirts with denim daisy dukes is WEIRD not STYLISH. And don't get me started on those glasses! Your style might not be as bright and 'look at me' as hers but I think you look better put together than she does. Try adding more flashy/large (costume) Jewelry to your looks and invest in a few pairs of gorgeous 'look at me' shoes and then build your outfit from the shoes up. You will be fine. I love your hair btw. It looks very soft and manageable.
