I think the biggest issue I ran into as a home schooled child was fixed when the state of Ohio decided to close the loophole allowing people who hadn't finished their freshman year of high school to teach. That said, I think there's a lot of advantages to it, particularly for special needs children.

I was homeschooled for the first three years I was in school, and I can honestly say it was the worst experience of my education life. That said, I realize that most people who choose to homeschool their children are well qualified to do so, and it's pretty encouraging to see the trend continuing.

I'm glad you like my idea for a future career goal. I need to keep immersing myself into learning the ins and outs of Montessori teaching in order to fully understand how to develop a curriculum true to its style. What sparked your interest in the statement?
