Gates' EP should definitely be free from their label, but the other two, especially Football, Etc. will probably throw you for a loop.

Alrighty!  How about this: since you're always looking for new music to check out, and I'm always nervous and desperately seeking the approval of my peers before I do things, check out some music from these three artists/albums that I think might be up your alley.  If you're into any of it, I think I can say I'm on board (but you'll have to remind me when it's coming up so I don't forget).

Des Ark - Don't Rock the Boat, Sink the Fucker (warning, can be dissonant in a couple places and the aesthetic is a little brash, but it's mostly a very smooth, surprising listen.  I can't get it out of my head.)
Gates - the Sun Will Rise and Lead Me Home
Football, Etc. - The Draft

If it's all the same to you, I'd just like to drop a line here, I'm more likely to check for a response.  I'm into a pretty wide range of music.  If it's well crafted I'll pretty much like it, though there are dangerously catchy exceptions.  Lately it's been a pretty solid rotation of post-rock (Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, etc) with some punk thrown in, and looking at my running list of albums I'm into that were released this year, there is an overwhelming amount of really angry, chaotic, and inaccessible music, with a Mountain Goats and Des Ark album thrown in.  It's kind of a mixed bag, so I was just wondering what your niche was before I made any sort of commitment.
