Ponderings about the blogging community

I'm still a bit on the edge about this community here. I think it's cool to have it but I also think people are abusing it. It's all very advertisement-based, and whereas I WILL go and look at people's blogs if a link is provided, screaming "look at me, look at me, oh god look at me" on community boards will not get me to do so. This seems to be a bit of a fashion in a few discussion forums as well. Traffic to your website seems to be the one and only reason people blog. Now, I do understand that this is a small minority of people, but these few bad apples ruin the whole bunch.

SO, that's why I haven't been here. But I'm crawling back. With a vengeance. I seem to have got stuck in a rut where I do nothing but watch TV all day and then off to work I go. And this is not good for me. I have a hunger of information; a desire to find out how other people live their lives. And the blogging community gives me this opportunity. I don't know how I'm going to achieve what I want to achieve, but I'm going to have a bash. We'll see, we'll see.
